Commercial Gym Mirrors Perth – New Movement Installation

About New Movement Perth
New Movement is a full-access training facility at 6/7 Hector Street West, Osborne Park — around five minutes from the Perth CBD. The gym operates 24/7 and runs an extensive timetable of strength and conditioning, Pilates, yoga, and HIIT classes, alongside a Movement Spa with full-spectrum infrared saunas and an ice bath. The free weights area is an official Hammer Strength Training Centre with six dedicated weightlifting platforms.
It is a facility that invests in its fit-out. Every area of the gym is expected to match the standard of the equipment and the coaching. When New Movement needed mirrors across the training floor that would perform under daily commercial use and look right in a premium facility, they engaged Dial A Glass.
The Installation

The J-Channel Method
Two aluminium J-channels are fixed horizontally to the wall at the top and bottom of the mirror run. The deeper top channel receives the glass first — the panel slides up into it, then drops down into the lower channel. The glass is held firmly at both edges with no screws through the face, no clips, and no permanent adhesive bonding the panel to the wall.
This is standard practice for large commercial mirror installations. It is how mirrors are fitted in dance studios, martial arts gyms, fitness facilities, and similar environments across Australia. The method is well-suited to commercial use because the panels can be removed and reinstalled if the gym reconfigures, and the slight gap between the mirror backing and the wall allows air to move — which matters in an environment where temperature and humidity change with every session.
Reflection Quality
The J-channel method holds each panel at a consistent angle away from the wall rather than pressing it flat against the surface. Direct adhesive mounting can introduce subtle distortion over time as the bond cures or as the wall moves slightly. In a training environment where athletes are checking form, distortion is not acceptable. The channel system avoids it.
Custom Sizing Throughout
Every panel was made to order for its specific position on the wall. No standard sizes, no awkward joins at the wrong point. Where walls had fixed dimensions that did not align with a standard sheet size, the glass was cut accordingly.
Removable Panels
Individual panels can be lifted out of the channels without damaging the wall or the glass. If New Movement reconfigures the training floor in future — moving equipment, changing zones — the mirrors can come down, be resized if needed, and go back up. That is not possible with glued or clip-fixed installations.
