10mm Frameless Shower Screen Installation Hillarys

10mm Clear Frameless Shower Screen Matt Silver Fixtures Hillarys

The floor in this Hillarys bathroom runs level from the doorway to the back wall. No hob, no step, no change in surface. The only thing marking where the shower begins is glass, and from most angles you have to look twice to see it. That was the point. The homeowners wanted the room to read as one space, and a frameless shower screen is the only screen that lets a floor like this carry through uninterrupted.

One Continuous Floor, One Continuous Room

The terrazzo-look tiles and the linear drain were chosen to make the bathroom feel like a single surface, and the screen respects that decision. A framed screen would draw a line through the space at floor level. A semi-frameless screen would soften that line but not remove it. Frameless removes it entirely. The fixed panels are held by discreet wall and floor brackets, the door hangs on hinges, and there is nothing else. The result is a shower zone that keeps water where it belongs without announcing itself.

This is the practical difference between frameless and semi-frameless that photos rarely show. Semi-frameless screens use 6mm toughened glass with framing around the perimeter of the fixed panels. Frameless uses 10mm toughened glass and no framing at all, which is why it suits bathrooms where the floor or the tiling is meant to be the feature.

10mm Clear Toughened Frameless Shower Screen Matt Silver Fixtures in Hillarys

Matt Silver, Kept Quiet

The only visible hardware in this shower is the fixtures: hinges on the door, brackets on the fixed panels, and a small knob handle. In matt silver, they sit softly against the white walls instead of catching the light from the highlight window. Frameless screens are available in a range of fixture finishes including bright silver, matt black, brushed nickel and brushed brass, confirmed at quote stage, so the hardware can either disappear into the room or act as a deliberate accent.

What 10mm glass changes

The first time you open a frameless door you notice the weight. 10mm toughened glass moves on its hinges with a solidity that thinner screens don’t have, and the fixed panels, siliconed at the wall junctions, don’t flex or rattle. Day to day it behaves like part of the building rather than a fitting.
